The Spiral of Freedom

The Spiral of Freedom is an energy artwork created on natural wood and shaped around the sensation of inner lightness. The image began with a meditation in which the figure sat on soft clouds above a wide field of chamomile. This is the freedom area of the soul, a place where the whole being feels unbound and lifted. The clouds carry the vibration of freedom, dissolving heaviness and allowing the body to float.

At the center of her solar plexus a golden spiral appears. This spiral represents the awakening of freedom energy inside the body. It forms when the breath becomes calm, the mind becomes quiet and the person gives themselves permission to release old weight. The spiral is made from twenty four karat gold leaf, so its glow stays alive and shifts with every movement of light.

Chamomile surrounds her. The larger blossoms placed around the figure are real dried chamomile, and the smaller ones are painted. Chamomile has long been a symbol of calm and gentle healing. In the meditation that inspired this work you saw a clear glass cup filled with water. You placed chamomile flowers into it and watched the water turn golden. When you drank that imagined tea your whole body filled with freedom energy. This experience shaped the painting and suggests that the viewer can also charge themselves with freedom energy through breath, intention, imagination or a simple cup of chamomile tea.

Her clothing is textured with citrine chips. Citrine supports openness, clarity and emotional release, and here it strengthens the theme of liberation. Small golden spirals move throughout the clouds and around her body, echoing the expanding movement of the central spiral.

The Spiral of Freedom reminds us that freedom is not only an outer condition. It is an inner state that grows from moments of stillness, small rituals and the willingness to let go. When the body softens the energy rises and the soul returns to its natural place of lightness above the chamomile fields.
